Westfield Sydney invites you to take a bite out of the season’s latest trends at the inaugural “Edible Fashion”. Yes, you read right, and yes, it’s happening. An exhibition of five garments crafted from edible ingredients (really), it showcases the ultimate fusion of food and fashion.
The stellar line-up includes Ginger & Smart with Alessandro Pavoni from Spiedo Restaurant & Bar, Arthur Galan with John Susman from Cloudy Bay Fish Co., Leona Edmiston with David Tsirekas from Greek eatery Xanthi, One Teaspoon with Amy Chanta from Chat Thai, and M.J. Bale with Justin North from modern European restaurant Quarter Twenty One and artisan patisserie Bécasse. All together, five unlikely alliances form an exhibition curated by renowned creative director David Grant.
Don’t picture Lady GaGa’s meat dress, because these creations will look nothing like that. You’ll be surprised to see what designs you can wear with edibles like fairyfloss, peppercorns, seaweed and pasta. If you’re thinking it sounds like nothing you’ve seen before, you’d be right. A creative and complex project from some of Australia’s homegrown fashion designers and chefs. Fashionistas need not go hungry this Winter.
