Mmmm… coffee!
Back in the day, I used to get my caffeine hit from a can of Red Bull on most days (sometimes I still do), but during these cold Winter days and nights, for me, nothing beats a hot cup of coffee. Not only does it wake me up, but it warms me up just as much too!
Do you love to drink coffee?
Do you want to put that money that you spend on a cup of coffee towards a good cause?
I know what you’re thinking, ‘How will my cup of coffee help a good cause?’
Well, I have the answer.
This Friday, 10th August, CaféSmart will bring together coffee roasters, cafés, and coffee lovers (myself included) around the country to help the homeless.
The concept is simple:
Grab a coffee at one of these participating cafés, and $1.00 from your cuppa will generously be donated to fund local projects and to aid small grassroots services helping people who are less fortunate.
Cafés will be donating $1 for every coffee they sell on the day.
CaféSmart ambassador and journalist Sarah Wilson, however, suggests the event isn’t just about raising money. “CaféSmart will be an up-close and meaningful way for cafés and their customers to connect with their local community to help people for whom a latté is a luxury.”
So what are you waiting for? Go in search of you nearest participating café or make the trip to somewhere new for your favourite brew and invite a friend or two! (*Rhyming that last sentence was unintentional.)
