Of all the Nike collaborations that have been done before, their designs with Liberty London are usually the front-runner for me. I mean, their last collection was so damn nice! I was so happy earlier this year when I managed to hunt down two designs from their last collection in New York City. 😉
And this week, it’s been announced that the two labels have hooked up again for the 10th time to bring us a special collection for the upcoming holidays.
Can you believe it’s almost November? Seriously, where did the year go?
What’s special about this particular collaborative collection though is the introduction of a custom print. Exciting, isn’t it?
“For the first time, Nike has modernised an archival Liberty design with the application of a contemporary geometric pattern.
“The collection fuses sport and style with a definitive polka-dot design laid over a classic floral Liberty Art Fabric.”
Gotta love those Liberty prints! The designs always impress me.
“The Holiday 2014 Nike x Liberty collection features contemporary and heritage Nike footwear silhouettes alongside a capsule apparel collection. This season’s archive Liberty print, Belmont Ivy, is a striking botanical artwork inspired by the entwining patterns of ivy clinging to buildings. A close look at the detailed ivy structure of the print reveals a subtle nod to the past as individual leaves display the markings of a British one pound note.”
Offered in two muted colour palettes of Belmont Ivy Black and Belmont Ivy Burgundy are both overlaid with Nike’s tonal polka dots throughout the capsule apparel and footwear collection.
The Nike x Liberty Holiday 2014 footwear collection launched yesterday on November 28, and the apparel will be launching on December 1, at nikestore.com.au. Make sure you put a reminder in your diaries!
So the most important question is: Will you be purchasing a piece or two as a Holiday gift for yourself or a special friend? 😉
