Dozens of brands showcased as part of “Art Hearts Fashion New York Fashion Week (NYFW) The Shows” showcase to a packed house at the Angel Orensanz Event Space all week long.

And when we say dozens – we mean DOZENS! There were so many stand-out pieces, we found it hard to keep up and capture them all as the models strutted their stuff down the runway.

Here at The 5 to 9 Life, we’ve decided to showcase the brands that stood out to us and have split them up so that you can really enjoy the designers’ work, but this is merely a visual feed from our eyes.

Closing the Art Hearts Fashion 9pm Presentation for New York Fashion Week were designers Mimi Tran and Laurel Dewitt.

From what we heard as people trickled into the Angel Orensanz Event Space, the designer on everyone’s lips was Mimi Tran.

Mimi‘s latest collection consisted of exquisite evening dresses, ready-to-wear pieces, culminated with a breathtaking bridal gown. Her creations featured floor-length dresses of fine fabrications, sensuously cut silhouettes in a kaleidoscope of turquoise, red, blush, white, and new pieces in black and gold tones, all detailed with hand embroidered lace, beads, shimmering Swarovski crystals and leathers.

Here’s the final walk for Mimi Tran because clothes down a runway just look better in motion – especially if you’re wearing a Mimi Tran design! <3

Laurel Dewitt was a big contrast to Mimi Tran. First off, she opened up her closing show with a beautiful violinist playing what I assume was an original which led to the opening notes of Queen Bey’s ‘Pray You Catch Me’.

Fun Fact: Laurel Dewitt created the unbelievable floral crown Beyonce wears in her video with the Coldplay assisted single, ‘Hymn For The Weekend’. She’s also designed creations for the likes of Amber Rose and Nicki Minaj.

Following that, the sounds of metal and rain walked down the runway via designs created by Laurel Dewitt. In the fashion world, she’s known to be a metal accessories designer but it seems she is delving into designing for the apparel world too.
