Capturing the DI$COUNT UNIVER$E runway show at this year’s Australian Fashion Week was one of our highlights, so we are very very excited to find out that the celebrated Aussie fashion label will be showcasing and curating their own exhibition in Melbourne very very soon!
The globally loved and self-aware brand will next week open the doors to its “it’s-too-soon-for-a-retrospective Retrospective Exhibition”. And just like the name of the exhibit, this showcase will be well over the top.
500 garments from the DI$COUNT UNIVER$E archives will be on display on 60+ mannequins. Some might say that’s too many, but like DI$COUNT UNIVER$E‘s motto, they do whatever they want, so it doesn’t really matter what you want. This retrospective will definitely showcase all of the label’s works – past to present.
In general, as a brand, we purposely go against the grain of what is done in the arena we work in. We do this to challenge the system. To prove there are OTHER WAYS of working. To show our supporters and other young people in our field that it IS possible to pave your own path without having all of the resources. To create your own resources.
