“Trailblazing Women of Herstory” is an Exhibition Celebrating Women Who Changed History

Thirty-nine artists create thirty-nine original portraits of trailblazing women, to raise funds for women continuing the fight for gender equality in Cambodia and Nepal.

Show your support and head on down to Collingwood this Friday to find yourself immersed in an exhibition that celebrates the vibrant contributions of visionary women.

Women who rejected stereotypes. Women determined to live their lives on equal terms to men. Women who sacrificed. Who lived and loved fiercely. Women who paved the way so that we may follow their lead. Women who blazed the trail.

Presented by The Global Women’s Project, “Trailblazing Women of Herstory is a fundraising art exhibition where herstory and art collides to create positive change for gender equality.

The exhibition celebrates the courage and contributions of women from lauded Mexican artist Frida Kahlo to Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai, as well as women much closer to home, including the first female Victorian Governor Linda Dessau AM and transgender Australian model Andreja Pejić.

Artworks will be sold or auctioned to raise money for The Global Women’s Project – a Melbourne-based nonprofit organisation supporting women leading grassroots change in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the world.

A portion of proceeds will be returned to exhibiting artists, to honour their time, skill and generosity.

Catch it from Friday, November 25 to Saturday, December 10 at Neospace Gallery, Collingwood. The exhibition will run for the duration of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Find out more details here. Show your interest via Facebook.
