Chance the Rapper Premiered His New Video For ‘Same Drugs’ on Facebook Live This Morning

This morning, as I was on my way to work, a notification came through on my phone that Chance the Rapper was starting a live video on Instagram.

As I tuned in, Chance was telling us all about wanting to premiere his new video on Instagram Live. Unfortunately his “homies” at Instagram advised him that it wasn’t possible, BUT his good friends at Facebook told him he could do so via Facebook Live, so lo and behold, that’s exactly what happened. He told us all to get OFF Instagram to jump on to Facebook which showed a countdown of the seconds left until the video would play!

Tens of thousands of his fans were tuned in and we were all counting down with him…

I say, yo, I wanna put a video that I already recorded on Instagram Live, I wanna put it on Twitter Live, I wanna put it on Snapchat, and they said no. But would you look at that? That’s Facebook Live holding me down with a countdown to an HD premiere of my shit.Chance the Rapper

The video, which thankfully includes plenty of puppets, is an extension of the visuals found on the ‘Magnificent Coloring World Tour’ and utilizes an alternate version of ‘Same Drugs’ featuring contributions from Eryn Koehn, Yebba, John Legend, Francis Starlite, and Macie Stewart.

Director Jake Schreier’s ‘Same Drugs’ video comes just days before Chance the Rapper is set to take the stage at the 2017 Grammy Awards, where Chance is nominated for 7 awards.
