Couture Designer Steven Kahlil Showed MBFWA Why He’s One of the Best

Master of the spectacular and curator of the grandiose, Steven Khalil brought a strong undercurrent of glamour with his Resort 2018 collection earlier tonight.

In front of celebrities, media and bloggers/influencers, the designer sent yet another exquisite collection down the runway.

The chiffon pieces captured our hearts but Khalil‘s collection at this year’s Merecedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) included many of the things you would expect from the glamourous couture designer including gold sequins, plunging necklines, and sheer dresses full of intricate embellishments. That’s what I love about couture gowns, the finer details! Can you imagine the time and effort it took to make a gown that beautiful? I can’t even.

A string of sheer gowns in cornflower blue, burgundy red, and a midnight navy, all mindfully embellished, swept down the runway and essentially made every look simply exquisite.

True to form, the moment Steven Khalil really stunned everybody was in his final creation (of course) which showcased an extravagant wedding gown, featuring a plunging neckline and bodice which sparkled subtly in the right lighting.

The train of the dress seemed to go on forever and the volume of the skirt was dramatic, so much so, that in some moments, it looked like it would cover the entire width of the runway floor! Think we’re kidding?
