Sass + Bide Returned to MBFWA After a 14-Year Hiatus and Slayed!

Having presented their last official collection in Sydney way back in 2003, Sass + Bide returned to close Day 2 of Australian Fashion Week last night in what has arguably been the most anticipated show on schedule. A brand we’ve all loved and most likely owned at some point in our lives, we had high hopes for the Resort 2018 collection, and all expectations were exceeded.

Like almost every other collection we’ve seen at Fashion Week this year, Sass + Bide‘s collection was also heavily embellished with sequins, beads and fine fringing.

Silhouettes were structured and sometimes short but softened with tassels and pretty pleats to lend a feminine feel. All in all, the label stayed true to the brand’s aesthetic.

Gold, silver, black and white were key colours but it was the shades of tangerine, bright red and pops of cornflower blue dotted throughout that brought a playful element to the collection.

The best part? The brand celebrated diversity on the runway, casting models of all ages. LOVE!
