Just hours ago, Camilla and Marc kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia tonight, complete with an A-list front row, international supermodel, 60 tonnes of sand and 800 onlookers.
Sydney’s Royal Hall of Industries was transformed into the dry Australian outback, complete with red rock boulders, sand and uneven flooring.
A large white sphere dangling from the ceiling was the only hint of the futuristic collection we were about to see on the runway, featuring a palette of dusty pinks, shades of grey, moss green and khaki mixed with metallics, sparkles and massive tote bags!
We should also point out that the special guest of the night was New Zealand-born Victoria’s Secret model Georgia Fowler closing the show in a green lurex dress with voluminous sleeves and a thigh-high split that was both classic and sexy.
Designers Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, who are celebrating 15 years in business this year, describe the collection as being inspired “by strong, future-thinking women.”
“Masculine tailoring meets feminine silhouettes; a sensual yet powerful play that conveys understated luxury.”
The duo stepped out to close the show with overwhelming cheers of applause erupting from the crowd.
It’s safe to say #MBFWA kicked things off in style.
