Once upon a time in 2014, four students at the University of the Arts London met and collaborated together to create Still Still Studio, a fashion label designed with eclecticism for those who pursue freedom, innovation and perfection.
Combining experimentation with feminine designs, Still Still Studio created a Resort 2019 collection for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this year that was both artistic and practical.
There was a very present influence of previous eras in their designs, blending in the roaring ’20s, and the swinging ’60s with late Victorian styles and a dash of the ’80s. Sounds a bit strange, doesn’t it?
I mean, reading all those different influences can be hard to imagine what it would look like (for someone who wasn’t there), but somehow it all came together down the runway, bringing together designs that were fresh, sexy, complex and feminine.
Feminine frills and high necklines together with cinched-in waistlines, lace bodices and sparkly creations, Still Still Studio created beautiful, womanly silhouettes for the women who walked down the runway wearing their designs.
