Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock served as inspiration for Thurley’s Resort ’19 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this year, a theme that translated into an ethereal look down the runway, both in their clothing designs, as well as the hair and make-up on the models.
The models were made to look really youthful, like the schoolgirls running about in the film. Their cheeks were flushed with soft pink blush to make it seem as though they had been running or were lost.
Mixing a variety of techniques with luxury materials saw Thurley create a collection full of pretty, contemporary and timeless womenswear with so much attention to detail!
Thurley‘s Resort 2019 collection, ‘Fable,’ featured timeless trans-seasonal pieces that were both modern and playful.
Strong tailoring juxtaposed with laser-cut techniques, intricate lace, delicate beading and pretty ruffles were taken to a new level in beautiful fabrics, creating an easily recognisable aesthetic that has garnered the brand a loyal international following.
