During our recent stint at Australian Fashion Week, the label we saw everyone wearing and/or accessorising with was Off-White.
This week, they’ve joined forces with Nike on a football-inspired collab on a collection that merges lifestyle with sports branding.
The ‘Football, Mon Amour’ range is inspired by Virgil Abloh’s memories of playing high-school football and taking cues from the sponsor prints plastered over the uniforms of European sports teams.
Leading the range is the Flyknit Zoom Fly, which ties back to Abloh’s recent rendition of the Mercurial shoe. You can also expect jerseys, jackets and sports gear.
The brand has also introduced a short film to tease the upcoming drop which you can watch above. Shot by Frank Lebon, the clip uses clever editing to seamlessly blend scenes together, while touching on Virgil Abloh‘s inspiration for the range.
Showcasing select collaborative goods in action, the video also serves to underline the unifying goal of the drop: to celebrate soccer’s global reach and universal language with its offering of revised wearables. Though the collection doesn’t officially tie in with the 2018 FIFA World Cup, it does drop on the same day that the tournament kicks off.
