Pacific Runway is Australia’s most prestigious platform for Pacific origin fashion.
Pacific designers from all over the world are invited each year to showcase their collections to an audience eager to discover a new range of fashion trends and styles – and for those in the know, specifically the creative panache and unique hybrid style of Pacific designers.
Now in its 7th year, Pacific Runway’s purpose is to open a dialogue about the Pacific fashion industries and their influence on global fashion. The Pacific is not just a source of inspiration, it is a producer of viable, ethical, sustainable and exciting fashion products.
Hosted by Carriageworks as part of its annual program and its second major fashion event (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia being its first), Pacific Runway’s popularity proves that Australia is ready to open its retail doors to Pacific origin designers.
Pacific Runway is a very important part of our annual Carriageworks Artistic Program. It is a privilege for Carriageworks to support such incredible design talent from across the Pacific and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership into the future. – Lisa Havilah, Director, Carriageworks
also lets Pacific
designers demonstrate how (by using traditional methods and cultural influences) they are at the forefront of ethical and sustainability practices.
“This platform is important to me because I love to see Pacific people excelling worldwide, in their respective fields, particularly fashion. We are multi-skilled, creative and stylish people and this platform helps to showcase this within Australia.” – Jannike Seiuli, Founder/Organizer of Pacific Runway.
Pacific Runway 2018 will showcase Resort ’18/19 collections by top designers from all over the Pacific, NZ, USA, France and Australia, worn by the hottest Pacific origin and multicultural models, another highlight of the show.
Diversity may be the fashion industry “trending” buzzword, but Pacific Runway shows that diversity is the norm.
