It’s the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and the day kicked off with St.George NEXTGEN providing emerging designers with an opportunity to show in front of an international audience.
The show featured a collection of up and coming designers; the rising stars and future of fashion.

The NextGen showcase has helped to discover and launch the careers of MBFWA favourites Anna Quan, Camilla & Marc, Kate Sylvester, Gorman, sass & bide and Akira, so this is definitely a show we look forward to each year.

This season’s participating designers to present were BENJAMIN GARG, CHLOE MOTTAU, MADISON HISLOP and Brian Huynh for MNDATORY.

Benjamin Garg
Melbourne-based Benjamin Garg of his namesake label put together a colourful collection utilising traditional Indian textiles.

Chloe Mottau
University of Technology Sydney alum, Chloe Mottau, proved her expertise in weaving and knitting with a dynamic and memorable collection.

Madison Hislop
Madison Hislop, also a graduate from the University of Technology Sydney’s Fashion and Textile course, sent models down the runway in pieces that harked back to her unique interpretation of texture and shape.

Whilst Huynh wasn’t a recent graduate like the other three designers, he did create one of the more wearable and practical collections in the showcase that day. Built on the brand’s DNA, ‘Chameleon’ was the first collection to feature garments that facilitated a co-creation process in a designer menswear context. Bringing together
