Karla Špetic Pushed The Style Envelope at MBFWA

Earlier this morning, quirky and cool designer Karla Špetic sent 23 models down the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in a black, white, grey and blush colour palette of bondage-style inspired threads.

A regular on the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia since 2008 and known for her feminine tailoring and unique prints, Croatian-Australian designer Karla Špetic played to the Resort theme this year and added swimwear to her new collection along with designs incorporating sheer, rope detailing, sexy cut-outs and the silhouette of a woman’s profile, altogether bringing a sense of seduction and confidence to the woman wearing her designs.

We also loved the hair detail on the models – crimping certain blocks of the ponytail! It’s a total throwback to our childhood and we wonder if us common folk could possibly nail the hair trend in 2019?

Over the past decade, Karla‘s commitment to ethical fashion has grown, and she is dedicated to using natural fibres, and no fur or leather. She’s even endeavoured to cut back on using silk, which used to be one of her most commonly used fabrics.

The Resort ’20 collection called ‘Syren‘ was a delightful showcase that celebrated femininity and made an impactful impression at Australian Fashion Week this year.
