Mr Porter: Paper Plane

Part of a short film campaign by Mr. Porter, Elijah Wood returns to the small screen in ‘Paper Plane’ as a frustrated employee considering his position in the workplace.

Although this short film is a few months old, it is one that I had to share, especially if you’re a fan of this year’s Academy Award Winner for Best Animated Short Film, ‘Paperman’.

Magic Hour

If you’ve ever travelled to New York City and compared it to your own city when you returned home, you’ll understand the concept of this short film.

And if that’s the case, I have no doubts that you will relate to the character of Chloë Sevigny in ‘Magic Hour’, because if you’ve ever visited New York City, you would have experienced that feeling of never wanting to leave.

I certainly have.

Justin Timberlake.

I am absolutely loving his new album, ‘The 20/20 Experience’, and cannot stop listening to it during my downtime. And it seems he’s been on one helluva ride lately with the success that has come from it. Earlier this month, he appeared on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ for an entire week, participating in various skits, and of course performing songs from the new record, as well as some old tunes.

H∆SHTAG$ Episode Six: Don’t Call It #BlogPop

The online web-series of documentaries exploring the world of online music has come to an end with Episode Six premiering this week. Whilst I was initially excited about the series airing, as the weeks went by, I found myself less and less excited of the content it was showing.

Nonetheless, here’s a little spiel on this week’s episode:
‘For the sixth and final episode of H∆SHTAG$ — our web series chronicling Internet-based music — we explore the idea of blog pop with UK duo AlunaGeorge, rising UK songstress Charli XCX, Brooklyn’s Teengirl Fantasy, Grimes affiliates Blood Diamond and Red Bull Music Academy class of ’10 Katy B.’

H∆SHTAG$ Episode Five: Don’t Call It #Tumblrwave

Straight up: I’m not a fan of this week’s episode. Since the beginning of the web-series, I’ve been able to take something from each episode and learn a little more about the artists involved or the genre that has been highlighted. But not this week. Disappointing, really.

‘In this fifth episode of our H∆SHTAG$ series, we talk with a few of the people that use Tumblr as one of their primary artistic outlets. Why does it work better than Facebook in connecting people? What happens when you can make your IRL dreams a URL reality? And what happens when the mainstream comes knocking?’
